The details that complete a shaker kitchen.

Larders, islands, appliances and internal storage; designed as part of a single considered interior.

In a shaker kitchen, everything has its place.

That’s why when we design a kitchen, we’re not just thinking about the cabinetry. We’re thinking about how the space will be used every day. Where things will be kept, how the room will move, what needs to sit within reach, and what can be set back.

It’s the difference between an addition, and something that truly belongs to a home.

Larder cupboards.

A larder should safely sit within a shaker kitchen as part of the overall run: aligned, balanced, and in proportion with the rest of the joinery.

Inside, it’s arranged around what you keep and use every day. Shelving, drawers and spacing set out in a way that feels straightforward and reliable.

Closed, it reads as part of the room.

Open, it works exactly as it should.

Kitchen islands.

Shaker kitchens favour clarity, and an island follows the same principle.

Clean lines, balanced proportions, and a presence that feels rooted within the room.

We consider how it sits within the space, how it relates to surrounding cabinetry, and how it will be used every day.

Appliances.

Appliances are essential, but in a shaker kitchen, they’re worked into the cabinetry from the outset. What matters is how they sit within the room, not just how they perform.

The result is a kitchen that works as it should, while still reading as a single, considered piece of furniture.

Organisation.

The drawer you reach for without looking. The place things return to. The shelf that holds what you use every day.

We plan that from the outset, shaping each cupboard and drawer around how the kitchen will actually be used.

And, over time, it earns a familiarity that settles in quietly, until you no longer think about where things are, only that they’re exactly where they should be.
