How we create shaker interiors that truly belong.

Every Alderholm kitchen and cabinet is shaped by our Bristol workshop, from the first drawings through to the final fit in your home.

It starts with the home

Every Alderholm interior begins with the building itself.

Being a part of an historic city such as Bristol we're used to working in Period homes that carry their own rhythm: ceiling heights, window lines, chimney breasts, and the subtle irregularities that come with age. That’s why, rather than fitting cabinetry into the space, we design shaker interiors that feel as though they have always belonged there.

Next comes the design.

Once we understand the home, the design work begins.

We develop detailed plans that consider proportion, layout and flow, ensuring each cabinet and surface sits seamlessly within the architecture of the room. Elevations, floor plans and technical drawings allow the interior to be worked through carefully before anything is made.

We also create visualisations, so you can see how the design will take shape long before it enters the workshop.

Made in our Bristol workshop.

Once the design is ready, the work moves into our Bristol workshop.

Here, each cabinet is built by the same team responsible for the design. Modern machinery supports accuracy and consistency, while traditional joinery and careful hand-finishing ensure the finished work feels refined and enduring.

Because everything is made in-house, the details worked through in the drawings are carried directly into the making, allowing each interior to come to life exactly as it was intended.

Installed with care

Once everything is made, the work returns to the home.

Our in-house team installs each interior with the same care it was designed and built with.

Cabinets are fitted carefully within the room, details are adjusted where needed, and every element is brought together so the finished space feels calm, balanced and complete.

Because the same workshop remains responsible throughout, nothing is lost between the drawing board, workshop and home.
