Alderholm Brand Book (36).png

We believe homes deserve better.

Behind the belief: where it started, who builds it, and why it matters.

Alderholm was founded by the team behind Young & Norgate, our sister company, with over a decade of experience designing and making considered interiors across the South West. But the calls kept coming from homeowners wanting that same care brought to their own kitchens and living spaces.

Alderholm was the answer. Same people, same craft, same standards: built entirely around the homes of the South West.

Where it all started.

Before Alderholm, the Young & Norgate team launched Bristol Joinery Co., working directly in Bristol homes, getting close to homeowners, and understanding what they actually wanted from their spaces.

What we found was consistent. A genuine appetite for the classic shaker kitchen, handled with contemporary detail: well-made, properly considered, and designed around the way people live today. Not a showroom product, but something that genuinely belonged.

That understanding became the foundation for Alderholm: a business built on years of listening, learning, and getting it right.

Meet the team.

Every project is handled by the same people, from the first conversation to the final fit. You'll meet them early, and you'll work with them throughout.

Dave Young

Co-founder

Dave met Ross at Rowden Atelier and the two have been building together ever since. His commercial instinct and eye for the long term helped grow Young & Norgate into a Bristol studio with an award-winning body of work. At Alderholm, that same thinking shapes how the business runs and grows.

Will Shaw

Project manager

Will has spent over nine years managing high-end bespoke cabinetry and joinery projects across the UK and New Zealand. He makes sure every project runs exactly as it should, from first conversation to final installation.

Where we’re rooted.

We've worked in some of the region's finest properties and earned a reputation for craft, for reliability, and for getting the details right. It’s that ethos that continues to bring people to us.

We don't work in isolation either. Alderholm is part of a wider network of local businesses that share the same values. We refer, collaborate, and support one another, because great homes are rarely the work of one pair of hands.

JB

"We have been extremely impressed with the professionalism and skill of the whole team at Alderholm. They have designed, built and fitted bespoke items for us - a built-in study in an awkward eaves room, first-floor landing bookshelves, and large wide wall shelves with integrated wall-mounted TV for our living room. Laura, who developed the concept, completely understood our desire to nod to tradition whilst being more contemporary, our love of wood and the need to maximise space without dominating each area."

The best way to understand what we do is to see it.

Our Bristol workshop is open to visitors. Come and handle materials, meet the team, and start a conversation.
